You Will Learn

7 Simple Steps to the Feel Good Zone

The more you learn life is not about reaching a state of success or happiness but a constantly evolving thread of experiences and growth, the more peaceful you will be. When we stop trying to achieve something or grasp success, happiness finds its way into your life.

1. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF FIRST.

If you are not healthy (mentally, emotionally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually), you will be of no use to your family, friends, colleagues, and community. Tackle your demons, know your triggers, and have a self-care plan in place for when times get tough so you can bounce back quickly.

2. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY, FORGIVE, AND MOVE ON.

Forget the past. Tune out the monkey brain that likes to ruminate on betrayals and get in touch with your higher consciousness through meditation or quiet presence. Choose empowering thoughts and focus on the right intention for the right action. Be mindful, practice active listening, and be here now….always.

3. NOURISH SUPPORT SYSTEMS.

Demand positive interaction. Weed out low-energy, soul-sucking people whose negative qualities and patterns creep into your life. Surround yourself with people who bring out the best in you. Play with people who play win/win or walk away.

4. GRATITUDE, GRATITUDE, GRATITUDE.

It’s easy to make money but harder to make a difference. Enjoy the gift of giving, not getting. You can make a difference every single day in someone else’s life with just a smile. Be blessed with what you have instead of focusing on something or some person or comparing yourself to others. Measure yourself against yourself.

5. KEEP IT SMART AND SIMPLE (KISS).

I have a sign in my office that says “SIMPLIFY” which reminds me things will overwhelming if I let them. De-clutter and let go of anything (especially clothes or gifts that hold bad memories) that drains your energy. Stop listening to negative news, turn off the TV, cell phone, Internet. Sit in nature, breath, and clear your mind. Reboot and recharge.

6. WEALTHY DOESN’T ALWAYS MEAN RICH.

Don’t get me wrong, wealth in the form of money is awesome. But I found out the hard way that focusing only on being wealthy, didn’t make me rich.

Now, my definition of rich is “being able to wake up in the morning with love and gratitude in your heart, with the time to enjoy good health, financial freedom, family, friends, and loved ones, to continue to learn, grow, and gain wisdom, and are passionate about being of service to others, and know you’re succeeding at living your life’s purpose.” Choose to be a bright, shiny light — and know the universe gives you what you focus on and you WILL have a rich life.

7. HAVE FAITH AND TEACH YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS TO DO THE WORK.

Life is unpredictable. We don’t always get what we want. And opportunities don’t always come packaged with a nice sweet bow. Sometimes opportunities are re-gifted in the form of failures, disappointments, and adversities. It’s your choice how you want to view the situation. Learn how to make your subconscious work for you. (See my blog on The Upper Limit). Believe in a grander plan, that you will be okay, you will always have enough, and things will work out for the best. Try it. It just might work.

THINK ABOUT THIS:

Do you ever get the feeling you’ve been here before? You know the deja vu feeling as if you’ve lived through the experience before? I honor those deva ju moments because I believe it’s God’s way of showing you, you are on the right path, are exactly where you need to be, in the right place, at the right time, at the right moment. It’s where the magic happens.

Start every day with an intention. Decide to have more creativity in your life. Einstein said intelligence is limited but creativity is not. Open up to more creativity by being present.
